Suzanne Lauritzen is a Swedish-Swiss international tax lawyer (LL.M.), STEP Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), and accredited mediator (CSMC, CEDR), with over 25 years of experience advising international families, owners and family offices. After many years working across tax, structuring, family office and private wealth, her work has increasingly focused on family and owner governance, transitions and mediation.

This combination allows her to understand the technical issues while looking beyond them — helping families clarify what they want to achieve, navigate different perspectives and determine the governance, structures and specialist advice needed to support their objectives.

Suzanne began her career in Sweden in corporate tax planning, M&A and tax litigation before moving to Switzerland and specialising in international tax and private client advisory.

She subsequently spent more than 15 years in senior roles within multi-family office, trustee and private wealth environments, including as Partner, Managing Director and board member. Her work has spanned ownership and wealth structuring, international tax, family office advisory and governance, often in the context of relocation, succession and other significant transitions.

Most recently, as a Tax Partner within a Big Four firm, Suzanne led and developed Family Governance and Family Office services, bringing together ownership structuring, governance, family dynamics and continuity planning.

Throughout her career, she observed that some of the most significant challenges facing families were rooted not in structures themselves, but in unclear objectives, differing expectations and weak communication between family members and other stakeholders. This led her to develop a particular focus on family and owner governance and to integrate mediation principles into her work, both to prevent disputes and to help resolve them when they arise.

Today, Suzanne works independently with owners, entrepreneurial families, family offices and their advisers. Depending on the situation, she may act as adviser, facilitator, mediator, independent sounding board, protector or director.

Suzanne is based in Switzerland and works in English, French and Swedish.
